An Oak Forest man has been charged with murder in the death of his wife, after her body was found in a house fire.
48-year-old Martin Rodriguez has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated arson.
The criminal complaint alleges that Rodriguez strangled his wife, 40-year-old Erica Rodriguez. Authorities found her body Dec 18th when they responded to a house fire in the 15000 block of Central Ave in Oak Forest. An autopsy revealed she was strangled.
The complaint also alleges Martin Rodriguez started the house fire.
Martin Rodriguez is still being treated for injuries at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, according to a statement from police.
