Metra is in the process of installing 300 defibrillators on its commuter trains.
The process should be completed by the end of next month.
Metra received a grant from the RTA for the life-saving equipment.
There have been instances where commuters on trains have started to go into cardiac arrest and that’s why the decision was made to install the defibrillators.

Not arguing with the AED plan, but the funding is coming from taxpayers via the RTA (bureaucratic surcharge).
