Convicted mob hitman dies in prison
One of Chicago’s most notorious mobsters is dead.
Frank Calabrese Sr died at a federal prison in North Carolina on Christmas Day.
He was 75.
The convicted mob hit man received a life sentence in 2007 in what was known as the Operation: Family Secrets trial, which was the biggest organized crime case in Chicago in years.
Calabrese and other defendants were convicted of operating the Chicago outfit as a racketeering enterprise.
