The line stretched around the building Monday, filled with eager little faces waiting to get one toy.
The toy distribution is courtesy of Jennifer and Julia Hudson, and the Julian D. King foundation.
“It brought tears to my eyes. That was my Christmas wish…[to] let there be people out there, and that was the first thing I saw when I came in” Jennifer Hudson said.
It is the toy drive’s fourth year, and the third working with WGN.
The Julian D. King foundation is named after Julia Hudson’s son, who was killed in 2008.
The foundation has collected tens of thousands of toys, bikes, and games to giveaway to families in need throughout the Chicago area.
