State Senator Donne Trotter is due back in court Wednesday, in connection with his upcoming trial for trying to carry a gun onto a passenger jet.
He was arrested at O’Hare last week when security inspectors found his gun and some bullets in his carry-on bag.
Trotter works for a security company and says he forgot he packed the gun.
He is expected to plead not guilty to felony weapons charges.
Trotter is also expected to stay in the race for Jesse Jackson, Jr.’s old congressional seat.
Trotter has represented Illinois’ 17th District since 1993.
