He’s 75-years-old, has spent the last 15 years heading up the Archdiocese of Chicago and now for the past 18 weeks, Francis Cardinal George has been fighting for his life after cancer surfaced in his body for a second time.
First it was his bladder, six years ago and now his kidneys. A scan in January should tell him just how well the treatments are working. But his diagnosis in August has made him tired, a little queasy, and more introspective. The Cardinal is prioritizing in a whole new way when he knows the future is uncertain.
Grateful for the outpouring of support in recent months, this week, he sat down with WGNTV Julie Unruh to talk about his health, the holidays and hope.
