Will County Sheriff’s police are investigating the death of a 2-month-old girl as a possible homicide.

The girl, Aaliyah Gedminas of Homer Glen, was in the care of Jon Karlson,17, when she suffered an injury to the head last week, according to sheriff’s police.

Karlson was arrested and charged with aggravated battery.

The baby died Wednesday morning.

An autopsy will be performed Thursday.

The sheriff’s office and the state’s attorney will be reviewing the case and charges may be upgraded.

DCFS is investigating the baby’s mother and caretake for allegations of child abuse.
