From darkness, a bright light shines in a small farming community about  65 miles northwest of Chicago.

On September 28, a farmer in Burlington, Wisconsin nearly lost his life.  Days later, his faith in his fellow man was restored through the act of one, big but very good deed.

66-year-old Russell Weis’ life will never be the same. He had been contemplating retirement from  farming, but nothing was put in place. However, a tragic farming accident left him physically changed.

Not too long after, it changed him emotionally, too.  It’s a simple story with a big lesson. One we all can learn from.

WGN-TV’s Julie Unruh has the story.
